Grain Boundary Structure and Properties

Grain boundaries play an important role in the performance of many polycrystalline materials. In particular, our research group focuses on using atomistic simulations to investigate the structure and properties numerous boundaries. By surveying a large number of grain boundaries, we are able to better understand the role of structure and crystallography on GB energy, mobility, shear coupling, and temperature-dependent mobility trends.
