The Microstructure Research Lab, directed by Professors David Fullwood and Eric Homer, performs research in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Brigham Young University. Our research lab uses characterization, experiments, analytical theory, modeling and computer simulations to explore the processing-structure-property relationships in structural metals and materials.

Areas of particular focus include grain boundary structure-property relationships, High Resolution Electron BackScatter Diffraction (HR-EBSD), geometrically necessary dislocation (GND) measurement, microstructure evolution and mechanical behavior of amorphous metals.
